I have not been here in a long time !!
So sorry if you are a follower of this blog....
I wanted to share with you a sock elephant which
I made my daughter for Christmas 2008.
I filled her with soft cotton and lavender since
I knew she would be sleeping with her...
and she loves lavender.

I tried to keep the sock elephant as vintage looking as possible.
I used vintage buttons for her eyes as well as fabric
from a blouse my daughter liked to wear.

Grand Debut...

Georgie Porgie makes his grand debut in a storefront window of our local Book Shoppe!!!! He's famous here in our town!!! He will soon be back home after his trip soon !!

A Vintage 30's Dress For An American Girl.....

My daughter & I went to see Kit Kitterage An American Girl from the 30's. We both loved the movie. It was sweet and touching taking you back to a sad time of the Depression. I loved the costumes. The girls dresses and the aprons the mother wore. So sweet. After the movie we went to her favorite book store The Book Worm. We found out their having a Kit American Girl Party on the 25th. Last Winter during another American Girl party she dressed up as Felicity from the Colonial period.

So.... Mama had to make her a dress for the Kit party. Here it is !!!

P.S There was a Sock Monkey in the movie when Kit's neighbors are moving a bed out of the house... it's sitting on the bed so sweet !!! I wanted to save it.

I think she is beautiful !!! She loves the dress. I will be adding an apron to the outfit and share pics. after the party !!!

The work of sweet Penny McAllister is sure to bring on a cheery smile. Look at these sweet funky sock monkey sculptures !!! I just think the one on the Ellie is sooo cute. I purchased the girl sock monkey in the top picture. She looks so cute in my studio. I will fill the box with something sweet perhaps.

Sophie The Sock Monkey...

Our Cousin came to visit for the afternoon, as a sweet Sock Monkey awaited to meet her new owners.

Our Cousin gave her the name Sophie... Which totally suits her.

Off to Idaho she will live and make everyone do the Monkey Dance.

A Special Sock Monkey For A Special Little Girl...

I made this special sock monkey for my niece Mila.. I named her Bubbles, which is fitting for Mila. I hope this will be a cherished comfort for her.

A Sock Monkey for My Mother.....

I made my Mom her very first Sock Monkey this weekend. She was so thrilled to have one of her very own. I made her to match the colors in her bedroom, where this little sweetie will now reside.

I call her Cream Puff !!!! My Mom can change her name if she would like. I think she's pretty !!!!

My Silly Birthday Give Away.....

Well the big day is in a few more days...so why not celebrate ! I thought it would be fun to give a gift for my Birthday this year. I put together a little something silly.... as you can see here, most of you know I love monkeys...Sock Monkey's especially !!

I chose these items because, to me this is all comfort things. I am the type of gal who loves to wear Jammie's and slippers all day....These are just a few of my favorites and thought I would share that with someone else.
